The person: 👋

Hi, I’m Alex, founder of Event Calendar App, or as I like to call it ‘ECA’. It’s a pleasure to meet you.

I started ECA back in 2016, while working a normal 9-5 job as a computer programmer. I loved my job, but it was obvious from fairly early on that my real passion lay in making a business of my own.

Like most entrepreneurs I started a few failed projects beforehand, but slowly and surely ECA seemed to ‘take-off’! ✈️ In 2018, myself and my partner decided to try the nomad life for 6 months. I quit my job, focused on building ECA and since then haven’t looked back.

Today ECA helps over a 1000 businesses promote and sell tickets to their events.

Some facts about me: 🤓

• I live on the south coast of the UK, in an area called the New Forest. It’s a beautiful area and I’d highly recommend a visit!
• I love sailing. It’s my biggest hobby outside of work. I have a little sailing dinghy that I sail around the Solent here in the UK.
• I have a pup named Lola 🐶. She’s pretty laid back and usually asleep next to me as I’m building ECA.
• I love a good ‘self help’ style book. Send any recommendations you have my way.

ECA is completely bootstrapped. We’ve never taken money from investors. This means we get to build a calm, sustainable company that will still be around in 10 years. We’re not forced to grow 1000% per year, or to extract as much money as possible from our customers. And the best thing about this is we get to focus on you, the customer. There’s no answering to anyone else.
